Ms. Wu joined the Modesto office of McCormick Barstow in 2015. She was previously a Partner at Borton Petrini, LLP, where her practice primarily focused on municipal defense, including dangerous condition of public property, excessive force, unlawful search and seizure, and Monell claims. Ms. Wu is an experienced attorney whose practice currently focuses on representing private and public entities in litigation matters, with a continued emphasis on municipal and insurance defense. Ms. Wu has also advised clients in connection with employment matters, private construction and public improvement contracts, administrative law matters, and business transactions and financing agreements. She has successfully managed all stages of litigation in both state and federal court, is well versed in law and motion, and has significant trial experience. In addition, Ms. Wu has prepared appellate briefs and delivered oral argument before state and federal appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and California’s Third and Fifth District Courts of Appeal. 

Ms. Wu is admitted to practice law in the State of California and the State of Illinois, and before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.

Honors and Awards

Ms. Wu was selected for inclusion in the Northern California Rising Stars list (2016) for her primary area of practice in Civil Litigation Defense.


Concentrating in Civil Litigation, with emphasis on municipal defense, civil rights, insurance defense, and contract disputes, along with Public Entity and Commercial Law.

Ms. Wu is a member of the State Bar of California, the State Bar of Illinois, and the Stanislaus County Bar Association.

Community Involvement

Ms. Wu volunteers as an attorney coach for Fred C. Beyer High School’s mock trial team.
