Experience

Ben represents businesses of all sizes in their most important transactions, governance, and general corporate matters.

Ben has substantial experience counseling both buyers and sellers regarding mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, real estate transactions, and joint ventures, as well as borrowers and lenders in complex lending transactions. Ben also advises clients regarding estate planning, supply chain management, venture capital investing, technology and intellectual property licensing, and trademark registrations.  He has represented developers of energy (including solar, biomass, and fossil fuel), chemical, and other infrastructure projects in EPC and other construction contracts, large equipment purchases and leases, tolling agreements, O&M contracts, fuel supply agreements, terminal services agreements, and transportation contracts.

Before practicing with McCormick Barstow, Ben practiced at a large international law firm in Virginia, during which time he worked for nine months in the in-house legal department of one of the world’s largest private oil and gas firms. He also has experience outside the legal field from managing operations at a thriving, family-owned almond and citrus ranch in the East San Joaquin Valley. Through all of these experiences, Ben is uniquely positioned to provide superb, practical advice to help his clients achieve their business goals.

* Ben currently is admitted only in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
