Mr. Gaus joined the Business Litigation Practice Group at McCormick Barstow in 2018. Prior to joining McCormick Barstow, Mr. Gaus served as a judicial law clerk for Judge William J. Fisher in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Minnesota. While in law school, he clerked for the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Minnesota where he worked on a variety of civil and criminal matters. He also worked as a legal intern at a major public accounting company and as a law clerk for a civil litigation firm in Minneapolis. As a student, he received Honors in Legal Research and Writing, and published an article entitled “Only the Good Regulations Die Young: Recognizing the Consumer Benefits of the FCC’s Now-Defunct Privacy Regulations” in the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science, & Technology.


Concentrating in business litigation, with an emphasis on bankruptcy, labor and employment, insurance, and general commercial litigation.

Mr. Gaus is a member of the State Bar of California.

Community Involvement

Mr. Gaus served as a presenter for Credit Abuse Resistance Education (C.A.R.E.), a program designed to educate students on student borrowing.
